MSA Design Process
MSA National Conference, April 2019
Baltimore, Maryland | Designer & Presenter
INTRODUCTION
The Magnet Schools of America National Conference is held every year featuring a different magnet school district across the country. Administrators, project managers, and educators attend to collaborate and network supporting innovative learning programs within public schools.
PRESENTATION
During this conference, I presented several breakout sessions on integrating design thinking through design challenges. The session included introductory information about design thinking and how it was used at an elementary school, hands-on challenges to apply the process, and time for reflection and networking in collaborative groups.
SUMMARY
In a post session survey, 100% of attendees said they learned practical ways to implement design thinking process within learning and were leaving with tools to immediately integrate the process. 97% of attendees strongly agreed the presenter was engaging and knowledgeable about the topic.
Comments from the presentation survey included:
"Rebecca had such an energetic attitude and engaging presentation style. She introduced topics and allowed for collaboration among those in the room to apply the process. I feel so much more comfortable utilizing design thinking with the examples she shared." - Shari, Project Coordinator

"I loved the hands-on experience and how the activity led us through several parts of the design thinking process in a simple yet effective way." - Tony, STEM District Coordinator
